I’ve been wanting to draw the Jaguar C-type for quite a while and, now that the British Sports Car Companion (John Nikas, Bentley Publishers) is put to bed I have my chance. Shown is a partial sketch of one of these legendary cats as once driven by the equally legendary Sir Stirling Moss. This print is accurate in every detail to an unrestored C-type as driven by Moss. There will only be 50 of these illustrations printed, each one numbered and signed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
The C-type illustration also represents somewhat of a change in technique for me with heavier more pronounced shadows and highlights that offer more realism as well as a significant change in the background with the addition of the graph lines and a sharper transition in the gradient to compliment the reflection in the foreground—as if the car were sitting in a studio somewhere.
The C-type prints are available in the exterior and interior colors of your choice. I will also be happy to capture as many other details of your C-type—carburation, wheels, interior, mirrors, race decals and the like— as I can (subject to receiving enough detail information to correctly execute the changes).
Sports Car Art illustrations are printed on museum quality paper using naturally pigmented inks for deep, vibrant color and incredible detail.
