Well, Labor Day has come and gone and that means the annual Lime Rock Historic Festival is over and I’m off the road until next spring when I show up for The Amelia. I love closing out my show year with Lime Rock—four days of great people and some truly fabulous vintage racing and race cars. This year’s festival was made more special by the presentation of framed prints to Jack Rawles and Andy Inglis of the cars they were respectively racing over the weekend, arranged by Pete Sturtevant in celebration of the Rawles’ cars coming over from the U.K. to race at Conclave 2024 at Road America. Both racers were totally surprised and I have to say, it was absolutely the highlight of my weekend to see the looks on their faces. Priceless.

Adding to the fun was getting to hang out over the weekend with my pal Jerry LaBant from Liverpool Motorworks. Jerry and I have been bumping into each other at events for many years, growing our friendship but this is the first time we’ve shared a place to stay. Have to say, having some company and some good scotch made the whole thing all the more enjoyable. I also got to catch up with Don Breselauer and Sue Sweetapple as well as enjoy some terrific meals at Sue’s Falls Village Inn, a place you absolutely must visit if you’re in the area.

Lastly, when Pete commissioned me to draw Jack’s and Andy’s cars, it didn’t make any sense to print just one so I printed 5 each and have a few of the archival prints left, all signed and numbered which may be purchased framed or unframed here.
