Last Rodeo

All good things must come to and end and, after more than a dozen years on the road, 2025 will mark my last regular tour. It’s been a blast. So many new friends, so many cool cars, I don’t think I would change a thing about the experience (well maybe the rain and/or heat at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix), but things are catching up to me. My 75th birthday is coming in April…

Rosso!

One Christmas, many years ago, my brother and I were gifted a Strombecker 1/32nd scale slot car track set. It wasn’t much by today’s standards but, back then, it provided hours of enjoyment…and competition. The set came with two cars—a blue Jaguar D-Type and a red Ferrari 250TR. Maybe it was the track, the car, or the driver but the Ferrari always seemed the faster of the two cars and was frequently the source of…

Alfa Romeo Spider Art

It’s taken forever and some push from my friend John Saccameno at Sport Specialty but I finally dove into drawing Alfas, starting with an early Gulietta. I haven’t drawn many Italian cars but this early post-war Alfa reminded a lot of post-war British cars where some of the parts selection seemed to vary considerably from year to year, I assume based on scarcity or availability. With the fist one already at the printer, I’m on…

Lime Rock Post-Event Sale

With the 42nd annual Lime Rock Historic Festival in my rear view mirror and the end of my traveling season, it’s time to clear out this year’s show art to make room in the studio and start planning for next season’s works. In addition to several framed pieces, I also have a number of dye-sublimated fabric prints including the Jaguar XJ13, Porsche 356 Anniversary and an 8′ x 6′ lightbox version of my Corvette…

Austin-Healey Art Gallery

Some time back, Jon Hill from AH Spares contacted me about illustration a number of Healeys with which he planned to decorate his showroom. Cars included a variety big Healeys, a Sprite and, of course, the Healey Sports 55 boat art. This was all made possible with the help of my friend Ken Fleming who made the initial introduction as well as recommendation. Fast forward several months and Ken is in the UK to…

Corvette Gand Sport—Independence

My Corvette Grand Sport—Independence art was the result of a customer requesting something with a patriotic theme and I could thin of no better example of an All-American race car then the Corvette Grand Sport. I have to be honest here, I was pretty skeptical of the idea but, hey, you never know how something is going to turn out unless you give it a go. The result surprised me. So much so, that I…

Savage Beauty—Jaguar XJ13

Surely the Jaguar XJ13 must be among the most beautiful race cars to have never seen a competitive lap. Conceived and built in the 60’s and powered by a 5 litre engine, had it ever come to fruition in time, the XJ13 would have competed with the likes of the Ford GT40s and Ferrari P4s. Early tests of the Jaguar were very promising but the program soon became bogged down following the merger with BMC.…

Get Revved Up With New Art

The studio has been a very busy place since I returned from the Greenwich Concours with a whole list of new art on the drawing board. For my Corvette fans, the long awaited C8 finally go its due, starting with a 2023 convertible model sporting a Z51 package with body colored trim. Mid and rear engine cars are alway difficult to draw. With so much going on in the back half—engine, transaxle, brakes, wheels, suspension,…
