Ford GT40 MKIV
Of all the LeMans winning Ford GTs, the Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt 1967 MK IV may be once of the best known, if not for winning the race but because Gurney also won the Belgian Grand Prix and Riverside 500 all in the same year. Unique among the GTs not only for it’s bubble roof necessitated by Dan’s tall frame, the #1 Ford was also one of the first endurance cars to sport a full roll-cage a feature that may well have saved Mario Andretti’s life when he was involved in shunt driving another of the factory’s entries.
