Pete’s Passion—1964 Daytona Coupe

Archival pigment print

Competition Colors started out as an experiment with monochromatic backgrounds and I liked the look so much I thought I’d explore the idea with a few other cars. It didn’t take long for a theme to evolve—the colors associated with some of the most important competition cars from the 50s and 60s.

The first in the series illustrates the Peter Brock designed Shelby Cobra Daytona coupe driven by Dan Gurney and Bob Bondurant that won its class at the 1964 24 Heurs du LeMans.
