After years of trying and finishing second in the World Championship for Makes in 1974, Alfa Romeo finally took the title in 1975 with Tipo 33 TT/12 winning seven out of the eight races contested that year. Alfa found perfection two years later with the Tipo 33 SC12 driven by Arturo Merzario, Jean-Pierre Jarier and Vittorio Brambilla winning every race in the World Championship for Sports Cars.
