Blue #1—Shelby Daytona Coupe

Colors of Competition started out as an experiment with monochromatic backgrounds and I liked the look so much I thought I’d explore the idea with a few other cars. It didn’t take long for a theme to evolve—the colors associated with some of the most important competition cars from the 50s and 60s.

The first in the series, Blue #1, illustrates the Peter Brock designed Shelby Cobra Daytona coupe driven by Dan Gurney and Bob Bondurant that won its class at the 1964 24 Heurs du LeMans.
